OILTECH ENGINEERING SERVICES LTD was incorporated as a wholly Nigerian owned Company with strong off-shore support. Work started almost immediately on the warehouse buildings on the site at 155 Trans Amadi in Port Harcourt to begin the year-long process of converting them into the workshop facilities that now make up the fully operational premises of Oiltech.

The original concepts were simple in their nature. The first objective was to establish the best equipped combined Mechanical Workshop, Machine Shop and Electrical Rewind Shop facilities in Port Harcourt with the primary purpose of servicing the Oil and Gas producing Companies and other large manufacturing companies that can benefit from these services.

A tremendous amount of sustained hard work and dedicated effort by all concerned has realised the completion of these aspects of the development project.

The second objective was that the quality of the facilities and the equipment were to be matched by the quality and experience of its expatriate and indigenous staff. This objective with the indigenous staff will be ongoing and we are determined to maintain a pro-active policy towards long term training and the development of the necessary skills.

In many ways the next phase will be much harder. Oil tech is an oilfield service Company and as such it is Oiltech's intention to ensure that all customers, from whatever industrial or market sector they are derived, are given a genuine service. Due to the nature of the Company's activities, utmost importance is, and will continue to be, given to attaining the highest degree of quality standards throughout all aspects of Company activity.

It is recognised that the achievement of a satisfactory standard of quality over a sustained period is the responsibility of all the staff and not merely those assigned to a specific task. To this end it is also the commitment of Oiltech's Management to provide services which conform to International Standards and to clients contractual requirements.

To support this commitment Oiltech has already available on its premises a wide range of test and measuring equipment/instrumentation for use in the various workshops. Much of this equipment is designed for use in the field as well.

Oiltech now has a functional organisational structure that permits the right degree of flexibility to develop and grow with the needs of the business and to enable the company to smoothly and efficiently offer quality engineering services at competitive prices.
